Have you ever played that silly game where someone whispers something into one person’s ear and then that person whispers that same message in the next person’s ear? Then message passes down the line people and suddenly at the end of the line the 3 sentence messages is one sentence and chances are it isn’t even close to what the originally message was?

We also get this same scenario in nature. If you follow a food chain, the levels of certain nutrients diminish as you go down the chain. In every chain there is a loss of matter and energy at each level, sometimes even as much as 90% [1]. If I were to choose to eat a rabbit meat instead of the green vegetation that it eats, I’m not going to get as much iron as the rabbit got.

You could probably use this as a defense for vegetarianism, but that’s not my point. The point is that the farther you go from the source the more diluted the message will be. The farther you get from the bible’s message the more diluted the message will be. I would like to get my conviction from the bible instead of what some preacher said about what some person wrote about a book in the bible.

No, I don’t have a theology degree and chances are you don’t either. But, I figure, if we go through the bible together we might catch something that the preacher who read the book about some book in the bible might have missed. So I started this blog two years ago thinking that I could dedicate the time to sit and write at least one or two articles a week. I had no real focus at all and I think that is where the problem lies. So, here is my focus starting today (well… other than a few mindless rants here and there).

Are you ready??

I want to write about my spiritual walk with God as I read through different books of the Bible. Okay, okay I know. Stop rolling your eyes and give me a chance. It just might surprise you. Many people see religion and spirituality with either rules/restrictions and crazy/extreme people (I don’t have to give you examples, I’m sure you are listing off a few in your head).

But either way (okay maybe not either way… crazy extreme isn’t my style), I think it is important to realize that a lot of these instructions are so that you can live better and fuller lives (BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE… I kid it sounded like an infomercial, okay back to the real stuff *cough*). If you choose not to follow them, recognize that you may or may not have to go through things that might not be very pleasant. Of course on the flip side, there are so many variable in every persons life that even if you do live a “perfect” life you are bound to go through things that are the result of some other person’s bad choice.
